Is Circular Economy Possible in Packaging?

Today, most products and packaging are designed to be used once and discarded, representing waste material and pollution. As packaging waste goes to landfills, and microplastics pollute even the remotest regions, reaching our drinking water, the need for a rapid change is undeniable.

The Circular Economy model focuses on products and materials that are continuously reused rather than being disposed of.

The Ellen MacArthur Foundation, established in 2010, aims to accelerate the transition to a circular economy.

In a circular economy, products are reused, and if they can't be reused, they are recycled through chemical or mechanical processes or biological processes like composting. Circular packaging solutions integrate circular economy principles seamlessly into sustainability efforts.
