About Us
Our story started at the intersection of a young entrepreneur's love of food, sustainable living, and harmony with nature. Attracted by the natural and historical qualities of Ayvalık, we felt compelled to combine modern technology with an age-old story.
Because we think that using high-quality olive oil enhances our tables, our bodies, and our lives in general.
In keeping with this goal, our founder Yusuf set out to improve our quality of life even more. Taking "via," which means "road" in Spanish, and combining it with his experiences studying in Spain, he created "Josevia."
Since 1993, our industry-leading company has blended the unique Ayvalık olives with our mission to produce dependable, high-quality products so that we can consistently prepare the best products for our clients.
Josevia prioritizes naturalness, quality, and flavor as we create our path. We offer you our exceptional olive oil, which is harvested on time, cold-pressed within 4 hours, and stored in chrome tanks to protect it from heat, light, and air exposure.
Why the Owl?
Human life and the olive tree have been connected for thousands of years. Olives have always been mentioned in sacred texts and mythologies.
The Greek mythology tale that had the biggest impact on us was the one in which the goddess Athena struck the ground with her spear during a competition arranged by the god Zeus, and an olive tree appeared. The Greeks were able to find healing through this tree, as well as warm themselves and lighten their surroundings with its oil and fruit. The competition was won by Athena, and the city bears her name.
Before Athena won the competition, she encountered the wise owl, who taught her about the olive leaf. Ever since that day, the Goddess Athena has associated the owl with knowledge and insight. As a result, we have decided that the astute owl will travel with us and provide us with guidance and wisdom along the way.
